New CD-ROM provides ideal introduction to Alcad's world of industrial nickel-cadmium batteries
Alcad's new CD-ROM is designed to provide a complete suite of information and utilities for the correct specification and usage of industrial rechargeable nickel-cadmium (Ni-Cd) batteries for power back-up and engine starting applications. It includes product brochures and interactive application engineering software packages as well as a direct link to the company web site www.alcad.com.
Product brochures featured on the CD-ROM include a general introduction to the Ni-Cd range as well as individual brochures on the L/M/H single cell range, Vantage low maintenance batteries and XHP low maintenance high performance batteries for engine start and UPS applications. These can either be viewed on screen or printed off for future reference.
Application engineering software packages featured on the CD-ROM include both 'BattSize', which is designed to provide an instant battery calculation based on a customer's own application criteria for the range of Alcad Ni-Cd batteries, and the life cycle cost (LCC) program which enables the user to perform an analysis for various battery types. The LCC approach goes beyond initial cost to consider the entire cost of ownership including transportation, installation, maintenance, testing and replacement, as well as administrative costs.
